The Parent Partnership was set up to facilitate communication between the parents and the hostel. The primary function being to promote the wellbeing of children staying at the hostel, and to ensure they are not disadvantaged by living away from home during the school week.
The Parents Partnership is open to all parents and carers who have children at the hostel. It tries to meet once a term at the hostel and is fully constituted with a Chair Person and Treasurer.
To date the partnership has fund raised to pay for teachers from Dunoon Grammar School to provide supported study to the young people 4 nights per week. It is anticipated this will cost around £8000- 9000 per year to provide. This funding has come from local trusts but an important element of this is a financial contribution from parents. The Partnership suggest a contribution of £3 per pupil per week, which is a strong gesture to potential grant funders. Please be assured that all contributions are treated anonymously. The Partnership has a bank account and contributions can be made by cash, cheque, BACS or standing order.
