Pupil Key Workers

Together with a member of staff, usually the young persons allotted key worker, each young person in Dunoon School Hostel will have an opportunity to complete and update a personal profile.  The profile will form the basis of a record that will track individual progress and it is the starting point for key staff to get to know their young person.

The profile will take note of the people who are important such as family, friends and key staff at school.  It will also highlight things such as their interests, aspirations, achievements and any health issues.  Key Workers will take time to chat regularly and keep up to date with the child’s day to day life at school and the hostel.  If your child has any worries or concerns they can ask their Key Worker for help or advice.

Our Key working System operates in line with the guidance set out by the National Care Standards and the Government initiative ‘Getting it Right for Every Child’ (GIRFEC). To include use of the wellbeing indicators known as ‘SHANARRI’

If there are extra support needs identified, a support plan may be put in place subject to agreement with the child and their parents.
