DVD/Console Games

Any DVD/Console Games that are brought into the hostel to be viewed or played by young people must be age appropriate.

The hostel holds a current TV licence and Motion Picture Umbrella Licence to allow DVD’s to be shown and console games to be played in the hostel.

Phones

In today’s society mobile technology and the internet is used daily.  Whilst we are happy for mobile telephones and other devices to brought into the hostel, we ask those using them to show consideration for others.  We also require compliance with the following rules –

  • Mobile telephones must be switched off in the Study and Dining Room
  • They must be switched off for the night at bedtime. (juniors from 10pm to 7:30am, seniors from 11pm to 7:30am)  We would appreciate parents/guardians respecting those times when telephoning their children.
  • When using mobile telephones in the main Common Room, young people are not allowed to play music from them on loudspeaker.  Headphones are permitted.
  • Do not photograph or video anyone without their knowing and consenting to it.
  • Never download content taken within the hostel setting on to the internet.
  • Never download inappropriate/adult content within the hostel setting.
  • Mobile phones, tablet and other devices must not be left charging overnight in the hostel (this is a fire safety requirement).
